By using the History Learner app ("the app"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Use of the app

The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use as a way to read and explore history timelines. You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to disrupt its operation, or use it in any unlawful way.

Accuracy of the history

The timelines, dates and descriptions in the app are summaries assembled for learning, and are offered without any guarantee of accuracy or completeness. Historians disagree, dates get revised, and summaries lose nuance — don't rely on the app as a source for anything that matters, and check a proper reference before citing it. The same goes for any quiz content added in future.

Content in the app

The timeline entries are bundled with the app; there is nothing for you to add, and the app stores no content of yours. The pictures the app carries come from Wikimedia Commons and are public domain or Creative Commons licensed — each one's source, author and licence is credited on the About screen inside the app, and those licences govern any reuse of the images themselves.

Intellectual property

The app, its design and its original code are owned by the developer. The bundled images remain under their own licences as credited in the app.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including any reliance on the historical information it presents.

Changes

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
