Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the History Learner app ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. In short: the app is a reader for history timelines that ship inside it, there are no accounts, and we run no servers that receive anything from you.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal information. The app has no user accounts, no login, and sends nothing about you to us or to any server we operate.
What the app contains
The timelines — World War II, world history, England, Italy and the rest — together with their entries and pictures, are fixed sets bundled with the app. They are there to be read, not filled in: the app has no way to add, edit or upload your own entries.
Data stored on your device
The few things the app does remember — which timeline you were last looking at, your view and zoom preferences, the world-events toggle, and (once quizzes ship) your quiz progress — are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. They never leave your device, and deleting the app deletes them.
Photos and location
Every picture in the app is bundled with it and shown from your device, offline. The app does not upload photos anywhere, and it does not track your location. If a future version asks for access to your photo library or location, iOS and Android will prompt you first, and anything read that way would stay on your device.
Analytics and advertising
The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share data, because we do not collect any.
Software updates
The app may download updates over the internet through the Expo / EAS Update service so you receive improvements without reinstalling. These requests involve standard technical information (such as your device's IP address and app version) handled by the update provider to deliver the correct update. They are not used to identify you and are not received or retained by us. See Expo's privacy policy at expo.dev/privacy.
Children's privacy
The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children or anyone else, for the reasons above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
